## Overview

**Halyk Bank Kyrgyzstan no longer exists under that name.** Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan sold it in April 2024 to buyers in the Visor group, which also owns the mobile operator O!, and the bank was renamed **O!Bank** (ОАО «О!Банк») in 2024 [[12]](https://interfax.com/newsroom/top-stories/101591/)[[7]](https://cdn.obank.kg/obank/prod/dynamic/files/finances/file-320-ru-1775204320881.pdf). Its customers bank inside **«Мой О!»** (My O!), the operator's app, which the store lists as "Мой О! + Банк": one app for phone service, payments and the bank's cards, loans and deposits [[18]](https://itunes.apple.com/lookup?id=1257075492&country=kg)[[2]](https://obank.kg/ru/superapp). ## History

- **12 April 1999: Kairat Bank.** The government formed the open joint-stock company «Кайрат Банк» from problem and bankrupt banks, taking over their deposits and part of their assets [[7]](https://cdn.obank.kg/obank/prod/dynamic/files/finances/file-320-ru-1775204320881.pdf).
- **2004: Halyk Bank Kyrgyzstan.** Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan bought all of Kairat Bank's shares and renamed it Halyk Bank Kyrgyzstan OJSC [[7]](https://cdn.obank.kg/obank/prod/dynamic/files/finances/file-320-ru-1775204320881.pdf)[[12]](https://interfax.com/newsroom/top-stories/101591/).

- **12 August 2024: the new name.** The shareholders decided to rename the bank O!Bank and make it part of the O! ecosystem around the «Мой О!» app. The chairman of the board said the bank's app would combine O!Dengi, banking, a microcredit company and an online marketplace [[8]](https://kaktus.media/doc/507195_halyk_bank_kyrgyzstan_bydet_pereimenovan_v_obank.html).

The operating entity is **Open Joint-Stock Company «О!Банк»**, with its office at Frunze Street 390 in Bishkek, branches in Bishkek, Osh, Kara-Suu, Manas (Jalal-Abad), Kara-Balta, Cholpon-Ata and Karakol, and 643 employees at the end of 2025 [[7]](https://cdn.obank.kg/obank/prod/dynamic/files/finances/file-320-ru-1775204320881.pdf).

**Kaspi QR ([Kaspi QR](https://docs.barcoder.ai/docs/standards/kaspi-qr)): partial, for paying in Kazakhstan.** Scan a Kaspi QR code in «Мой О!» to pay a shop in Kazakhstan.
