Overview

Amazon Pay (India) is Amazon's Indian digital-payments service, operated by Amazon Pay (India) Private Limited 1, 2. It combines a prepaid wallet (Amazon Pay balance), UPI QR payments, bill payment via BBPS, and card-on-file checkout — embedded in the Amazon shopping app and usable at external merchants for UPI scan-and-pay and bills 1. Unlike standalone UPI giants PhonePe and Google Pay, Amazon Pay's wedge is commerce + recharges/bills + cashback, leveraging Amazon's large Indian shopping base 2.
