Overview

Standard Chartered, the London-headquartered banking group, is not a UK consumer wallet or retail bank. • 1853. Standard Chartered Bank was incorporated in England by Royal Charter in 1853 [2](https://www.sc.com/en/uploads/sites/66/content/docs/ib-factsheet-jersey.pdf). • 15 Apr 2024. SC Ventures, the group's venture arm, invested in the UK fintech Algbra. • 29 Sep 2025. The bank announced plans to offer its Saadiq Islamic Banking Account in the UK. • App and web: online banking available 24 hours a day, and the SC Mobile Jersey app (iOS and Android). The app has "Swipe to Pay", scheduled recurring payments, biometric login, transaction history, portfolio tracking, statement settings and secure messages to relationship managers.
• Card: a Priority Banking debit card for local and international ATMs and shop payments.

The choice depends on who you are. Only a Priority or Private Bank client gets the payment features, and Shoal is a savings product, not a payment app.
